For 90 years, MembersOwn Credit Union (membersowncu.org)has provided financial services that are all about you. What began in 1936 as a small cooperative formed by 13 Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph employees has grown into a community-focused credit union serving 10 southeast Nebraska counties.
Today, MembersOwn provides the financial tools people need throughout life, including checking and savings, auto and consumer loans, mortgages, home equity lending, credit cards, certificates and digital banking, along with financial education and personalized guidance.
“The mission of the telephone company credit union flows right into MembersOwn Credit Union today. It’s still living that mission of people helping people,” says Linda Carter, president of MembersOwn Credit Union.
That philosophy shapes how MembersOwn works with members, focusing on their individual goals and finding solutions that fit their lives.
“At MembersOwn Credit Union, ‘It’s all about you’ means just that. We are focused strictly on you, your community and your financial journey,” Carter says.
Looking ahead, MembersOwn is focused on expanding access and evolving its services to meet changing needs. Financial inclusion remains central to that vision, ensuring more people have access to the products and guidance they need to build stronger financial futures.
“We want to have financial inclusion for all members of our communities. We want to serve more people with more services so that they can be financially successful as the years move on,” Carter says.
