NAWIC to Celebrate National Women in Construction Week March 1–7

The Greater Omaha Chapter #116 of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) (www.nawicomaha.com), along with over a hundred chapters and thousands of members across the nation, will celebrate Women in Construction (WIC) Week March 1–7. Throughout WIC Week, the NAWIC Greater Omaha Chapter #116 will promote and cohost or host daily activities with the full schedule being posted on the NAWIC website in mid-February.

The focus of WIC Week is to highlight women as a viable component of the construction industry and for the Greater Omaha Chapter to give back to its community. NAWIC is committed to strengthening and amplifying the success of women in the construction industry by raising awareness of the opportunities and visibility of the women in construction.

NAWIC Chapter #116 based in Omaha also encompasses Lincoln, Council Bluffs, and the surrounding areas. First chartered in 1966, the chapter has 50 members working in businesses whose primary focus is the construction industry. Receiving its national charter in 1955, NAWIC has 3,949 current active members in 118 chapters across the United States.
