Nebraska Bankers Association Offers $2K Scholarship to Students Studying Business

The Nebraska Bankers Association (NBA, nebankers.org) is offering a $2,000 scholarship to up to 10 college students who are interested in banking. Interested students submitted their applications by February 1; those chosen will receive their scholarship for the following academic year. The scholarships will be distributed to up to 10 students who are legal residents of Nebraska and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics, marketing, or another banking-related major at one of Nebraska’s state- or privately-funded colleges or universities (excluding the University of Nebraska). Those chosen for the scholarship will have been taking classes full-time and will have achieved at least a junior- or senior-level status by this coming fall with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The NBA is awarding these scholarships in memory of William B. “Bill” Brandt, who served with them for 25 years as a long-time general counsel and lobbyist. NBA is grateful to contribute to Nebraska’s next generation of bankers.

Founded in 1890, the Nebraska Bankers Association is the voice of Nebraska’s $77.9 billion banking industry, which comprises small, regional, and large banks that together employ more than 15,000 people and safeguard nearly $67.1 billion in deposits.
