Onyx Piercing Studio: New Name, New Look
Onyx Piercing Studio (www.onyxpiercing.com) (formerly Know Piercing) has formally announced the rebranding of its industry-leading facility. Located at 1640 O Street, Onyx Piercing partners with and shares space at Big ‘O’ Tattoo, one of Lincoln’s oldest tattoo studios. On September 30th Onyx celebrated three years at this location, kicking off the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. A reception followed during which time owner and senior piercer Matt Bavougian showcased his business’ new look and guests had the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and tour the renovated studio.
Bavougian’s career in the piercing industry spans nearly 20 years, including over a decade lobbying for regulation in the body art industry. He and Mark Badberg, fellow piercer and Onyx’s manager, are Lincoln, Nebraska’s only members of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP); Bavougian is also a member of the APP’s Legislation and Regulatory Affairs Committee along with being recently appointed to the National Environmental Health Association’s Body Art Code Committee and the Association of Food and Drug Officials’ Body Art Subcommittee.
