Raising Cane’s Donates Over $2.1K to Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue

Raising Cane’s (www.nebraskanokill.org) restaurants teamed up with Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue, a local pet welfare organization, over the holidays to sell a limited-edition plush toy puppy and donate 100% of the net proceeds to the organization. Over $2,100 was raised from the sale of the plush toy puppies. The Raising Cane’s Plush Puppies were inspired by Founder Todd Graves’ loveable best friend, and the restaurant’s namesake, Raising Cane—a yellow Labrador.

“We’re thrilled that Raising Cane’s chose Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue to benefit from the plush puppy sales this year,” Co-founder and Board Member Karl Skinner said. “We pride ourselves on collaborating with area shelters and helping them increase their live-release rates, so the size of this gift actually enables us to assist dogs in our own rescue as well as dogs with other organizations.”

Nebraska No Kill Canine Rescue was formed in 2010 by a handful of volunteers who wanted to provide a foster-based no-kill option for all dogs regardless of breed. To date, they have re-homed more than 400 dogs with a success rate of 97% on adoptions. For information on fostering, adopting, or volunteering, email info@NebraskaNoKill.org or visit www.nebraskanokill.org.
