Early in 2014, Southern Hospitality Ventures, Inc. presented two separate checks, one for the Lincoln Children’s Museum and the other to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo for the fundraising efforts from 2013—resulting in a total of almost $9,000.
Raising Cane’s held in-store fundraising with the Zoo and its members from April through October, where 20% of every member’s sale was donated back to the Zoo. In addition, Raising Cane’s donated 100% of their net proceeds from Boo at the Zoo—where hot and fresh chicken fingers were sold on-site—to help with the care and maintenance of the Zoo and its animals through the winter months. In total, these events resulted in $6,080 being donated to the Zoo.
Similar to the Zoo, the Lincoln Children’s Museum and its members held a yearlong in-store fundraiser where 20% of every member’s sale was donated back to the Museum—totaling $2,843.
Raising Cane’s has one love — chicken fingers — and focuses its menu offering on fresh, made-to-order chicken fingers paired with their homemade Cane’s sauce, grilled Texas Toast brushed with garlic butter, creamy Cole slaw and crinkle-cut French fries. Since opening their first location in 2006, owners Justin & Jennifer Jones have set out to make a change in Lincoln by becoming active community leaders and supporting local organizations.
