Roper & Sons Funeral Home Announces April Events

This month’s Roper & Sons (www.roperandsons.com) Topic Breakfast, held at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, features Beth Friesen, owner of Oasis Senior Advisors. Beth, a certified dementia specialist, will provide timely and important insight into helping our elder family members in making retirement living choices. Roper & Sons’ Grief Program meets weekly on Sundays. Grief Programs are open to the public, regardless of whether services were facilitated by Roper & Sons.

1st Sundays: Guided Group with Facilitator Melissa Thorne, open to anyone who is facing grief from the loss of a spouse and would like support of like-minded individuals. Meets from 2 to 3 p.m. at The Mill – Telegraph District (331 S. 21st St.).

3rd Sundays: Guided Group with Facilitator Melissa Thorne, open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, but particularly parents, children, or friends. Meets from 2 to 3 p.m. at The Mill—Telegraph District.

3rd Sundays: Substance Use Loss Group with Facilitators Brenda Moes and Melissa Thorne. Designed for those whose loved one died as a result of drug or alcohol use. Meets 3 to 4 p.m. at The Mill—Telegraph District.

2nd and 4th Sundays: Structured Group with Facilitator Tiffany Eisenbraun, designed for those whose loss is more recent than 18 months, who may be addressing some more pressing first-time needs. Meets from 2 to 3 p.m. Meets at the Roper & Sons Chapel Reception Facility (4300 O St.).

5th Sundays: Specialty programs, each month will differ slightly and be held in different locations.
