On Wednesday, September 12, Savannah Pines Independent Retirement community honored all grandparents and grand friends with a celebration featuring a ‘50s Sock Hop and a theatre musical performance by Cynthia Ziesman. This was a free event that grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and grand-friends welcome.
National Grandparents Day is an annual observance in the United States that honors grandparents and other seniors, and seeks to strengthen relationships between the generations. This day’s purpose is: to honor grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children, and to help children become aware of strength, information, and guidance older people can offer.
