In 1888, at the southwest corner of 8th and “O” street a wholesale grocer, Hargreaves Bros. Company, moved to its new home. In 1917 the same structure became the home for Schwarz Paper Company, which occupied the building until August 2015 when it moved to a new location at 1110 Aries.
With the Schwarz Paper Company move comes new life to this historic building. A renovation/restoration project is currently underway, transforming it into condominiums on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors and commercial space on the 1st floor. In addition to the 6,500 square feet on the 1st floor, the dock and canopy that the Haymarket is so well known for are being refurbished. The condominiums on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors will be custom built and will vary from 750 to 1,800 square feet, with views of the Haymarket along with added balconies to the south.
Woods Bros real estate agents Ann Deck and Amy Mosser will be leading the sales of the residential condo units. Running the lead on commercial development from Woods Bros is Mike Poskochil. Building Renovations have started and condo units could be ready by Late Spring 2016.
