SP Group Swings into Action to Meet July 15 Tax Deadline

After a short break to recharge following the original April 15 tax deadline, SP Group PC (www.spgrouppc.com) swung back into action to meet the new 2019 tax-return deadline of July 15, extended because of the national emergency declaration related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many SP Group team members have been working from home to honor social-distancing guidelines and state-directed health measures in Nebraska, but continued to serve clients efficiently and effectively without interruption.

SP Group reminds everyone that the July 15 deadline applies to all 2019 tax returns—for individuals, trusts, estates, and corporations. This means that anyone, including Americans who live and work abroad, must file their 2019 federal income-tax return and pay any taxes due by that date. What’s more, any individual or corporation with federal quarterly estimated tax payments due between April 1 and July 15 can wait until July 15 to make a payment, without incurring penalties or interest. Individuals who need additional time to file taxes (but not an extension to pay taxes owed) can still request an extension to October 15.
