The Nebraska Communities Playhouse (NCP) (neplayhouse.com) is excited to announce the launch of The Y.A.C.H.T. Club (Young Artists Collective Hickman Theater), an innovative arts education program designed to provide area youth with hands-on experiences in theater and the arts.

The Y.A.C.H.T. Club offers a range of exciting opportunities for youth ages six-17 to engage in the world of performance, creativity and artistic expression. Through monthly workshops, camps and a summer production, the Y.A.C.H.T. Club is designed to foster both individual talent and teamwork while helping students develop the skills needed for all aspects of theater—from acting to set design to stage management.

“Our mission at NCP is to be a welcoming and innovative community providing opportunities to create, learn and appreciate the arts. The Y.A.C.H.T. Club is the perfect place to pursue that mission with our youth,” said Gina Boe, Productions Coordinator at NCP. “By offering a wide variety of arts experiences for kids, and giving them a safe and nurturing place to try new things, we hope to build their confidence and show them how every person can find a creative home in community theater.”

Summer programming includes two Broadway boot camps and a production of Willy Wonka Jr. Looking ahead to the fall, the program plans to expand with group lessons and additional performance opportunities, enabling even more youth to explore different facets of theater and the arts.
