The Waffleman Establishes Site for Kitchen, Unveils Mobile Food Truck

The Waffleman (wafflemanbill.com), which got its start at a fundraiser in 2001 with 10 waffle irons, has officially established a commercial kitchen in Lincoln and unveiled a brand new food trailer. To celebrated these major benchmarks, a ribbon-cutting ceremony conducted by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce was held on August 1.

After two years in the design and execution phases, The Waffleman’s new location and mobile food truck will allow them to continuing offering their popular 9” Belgian waffles and sausage to patrons around town and at special events. In addition, the trailer will also offer up to two specialty flavors of waffles at a time, which will be available as 9” Belgian waffles or as a Waffle Dawg (a waffle on a stick!). The flavor varieties include strawberry, chocolate, banana nut, cinnamon roll, red velvet, maple cinnamon, and more.

In August 2015, Bill Maltas took over as The Waffleman after Founder Doug McCallum retired. Bill holds a master’s degree in arts and nonprofit administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia. His main focus with The Waffleman continues to be supporting local nonprofits and helping them raise money through fundraising. While the main focus is serving at fundraisers, they are also a great and creative option for company events, client and customer appreciation events, graduation parties, and any other type of get-together.
