Tobacco Free Lancaster County (TFLC) (TobaccoFreeLancasterCounty.org) invites residents to join Quit Tobacco Week from November 17–21 and the Great American Smoke out Day on November 20. This annual campaign encourages individuals to take their first step toward quitting nicotine, including smoking, vaping, chew and pouches, while providing resources to support long-term success.
Quitting nicotine can be challenging, impacting not only physical health, but also mental well-being, relationships, finances and the environment. TFLC emphasizes the importance of creating a community that supports individuals in their journey to live tobacco and nicotine free.
TFLC provides quit kits containing helpful items such as gum, mints, fidgets and stress balls, along with cinnamon-flavored toothpicks, educational tools, posters, flyers, yard signs, social media graphics and more. These resources make it easy for individuals, families, schools and local businesses to support the campaign and spread awareness about quitting nicotine.
This initiative is funded by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services/Tobacco Free Nebraska Program, through an appropriation by the Nebraska State Legislature.
Community members can sign up at (TobaccoFreeLancasterCounty.org/quittobaccoweek) to participate and access a variety of free resources.
