Work Starts on State-of-the-Art Transitional Care Center in Lincoln

Promontory Healthcare Companies and Cheney Investments, LLC broke ground in mid-May on a new state-of-the-art transitional care center in the 14th & Old Cheney area of Lincoln. Manzitto Construction is building the new Old Cheney Rehabilitation on a 3.4-acre lot northeast of 14th & Old Cheney within the Kensington Center (kensingtonre.com) development. Construction on the $7.8-million facility is expected to take 12 months, and the center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017. Once complete, Old Cheney Rehabilitation, or Old Cheney Rehab, will provide transitional rehabilitation and skilled nursing care in a distinct patient-centered and hospitality-driven setting with “suite style” accommodations for the patients.

Old Cheney Rehab is being developed by Cheney Investments, LLC a Lincoln, NE-based company.

Architectural Design Associates of Lincoln, NE is serving as the project architect, and Olsson & Associates of Lincoln, NE is serving as the civil engineer. Construction financing is being provided Mutual of Omaha. Old Cheney Rehab will be operated by Promontory Healthcare Companies, a multi-facility management company based in Portland, OR. Promontory Healthcare Companies specializes in transitional care and operates similar facilities in Oregon, Idaho, and Omaha, NE.
