Rev. Richard L. Maddox has joined the staff of Concordia University, Nebraska as the vice president for institutional advancement.
“Dick Maddox brings a wealth of experience and expertise from his previous positions at The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod Foundation and Valparaiso University to Concordia,” said Rev. Dr. Brian Friedrich, Concordia’s president.
At Valparaiso Maddox served as vice president for institutional advancement for sixteen years and most recently as special assistant to the president. As vice president for institutional advancement, he led three consecutive successful comprehensive campaigns, raising more than $400 million. Some of his innovative contributions include developing a long range fund raising model and creating the “path to partnership” engagement model. Maddox served nineteen years on the President’s Council at Valparaiso and helped develop and successfully implement strategic, academic, technology and campus master plans. Maddox also served as the senior vice president for the LCMS Foundation and in various roles in the department of stewardship at LCMS.
