Voices of Hope (voicesofhopelincoln.org) will be offering a crisis line volunteer training August 23 – September 20. The training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 – 10 p.m.
Their services are offered 24/7, meaning Voices of Hope staff are on call responding to crisis line calls and hospital advocacies every day of the week. They could not do that without the help of their volunteers which are trained by Voices of Hope to provide support and resources to those calling the crisis line. This past year, their crisis line volunteers covered 3,646.5 hours on the crisis line!
Voices of Hope is always in need of crisis line volunteers as it is one of their biggest services to the community. They offer three 36-hour trainings a year. Voices of Hope commits to having volunteers end training with a great understanding on domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, honor-based violence, crisis intervention skills, and safety planning, to name a few.
Their crisis line is designed to work with your schedule as you choose your hours a week. Calls come straight to your phone, and you always have a staff member to offer support and be your back up.
Applications for the upcoming training are currently being accepted. Please call the Voices of Hope office at (402) 476-2110 and ask for the volunteer coordinator or email Lizeth at lizeth@voicesofhopelincoln.org.
