On August 22, Nebraska Orthopaedic Center (nebraskaortho.com), PC welcomed Steven T. Wahlmeier, M.D. to the team. Dr. Wahlmeier specializes in back, neck, and spine care. He joins the spine team, which also includes Daniel R. Ripa, M.D.; Robert A. Vande Guchte, M.D.; Steven J. Volin, M.D.; and Brad A. Webb, D.O. Dr. Wahlmeier was born and raised outside Hastings, NE. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, followed by his orthopaedic surgery residency at the William Beaumont Hospital outside Detroit, MI. He completed a fellowship, with specialized training in orthopaedic spine surgery, at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He was fortunate enough to train under two former presidents of the Cervical Spine Research Society, providing the highest level of training in spine surgery involving the neck.
Dr. Wahlmeier is married and has three children that keep him busy with their school and activities. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities. He is looking forward to being back in Nebraska, near friends and extended family, as well as being able to serve the communities he and his family grew up in.
