Goodwill Helps UNL Students Declutter with Campus Move-Out Donation Drive

Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. (lincolngoodwill.org) is teaming up with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for their annual Campus Move-Out Donation Drive. During the first two weeks of May, Goodwill will place donation barrels inside residence halls so that students can conveniently donate their extra clothing, electronics, and home goods before they head home for the summer.

“The end of spring semester is the busiest time of year for college students,” said Alana Sesow, Goodwill’s communications coordinator. “Our goal is to make campus move-out easy while giving students an opportunity to give back to the community.”

When students donate to Goodwill, they help change lives through the power of work. The revenue from Goodwill’s thrift stores in Lincoln and York helps fund local programs that assist job seekers as they overcome barriers to employment. In 2021 alone, Goodwill served over 3,500 individuals with employment-related services, such as job skills training, mentorship, mock interviews, and more. Goodwill is grateful for support from organizations like UNL that make this community impact possible.
