Willard Community Center (willardcommunitycenter.org) is pleased to announce $52,500 in funding to support its growing Adult & Senior Program. The program recently received a $35,000 grant from the Immanuel Vision Foundation and a $17,500 grant from the Community Health Endowment to help provide free and low-cost programming for adults age 55 and older.

The funding will allow Willard to continue offering opportunities that promote wellness, lifelong learning, creativity and social connection. Current activities include fitness classes, art workshops, health education presentations, book club, genealogy classes, card groups, community meals and special intergenerational events that bring older adults together with children enrolled in Willard’s youth programs.

Over the past year, participation in the Adult & Senior Program has grown significantly as more older adults seek opportunities to stay active, engaged and connected to their community. Many participants live on fixed incomes, making free and affordable programming especially important.

Willard Community Center’s Adult & Senior Program is open to all adults age 55 and older. For more information about upcoming classes and activities, call (402) 475-0805. You can also visit willardcommunitycenter.org.
