Walker Tire is pleased to announce that Jeanne Vuko has returned to work for the company. Jeanne Vuko, daughter of Nick Vuko Sr., started working at Walker Tire while attending Pius high school. After graduating, she became the manager at the N. Cotner location and then decided to join the Marine Corps with a goal of joining the Military Police. In basic training, she survived by winning the battalion boxing championship by T.K.O. Unfortunately, the M.P. class was full and she served her time supporting the F 18 Cobra and Harrier squadrons.
After three years of active duty, Jeanne has left the corps and returned to Walker Tire. She left in 2002 to become a stay-at-home mom to her kids, Nick and Tori (now 9 and 10) and is excited to now be back at Walker. She specializes in sales of commercial, light truck and passenger, bringing a woman’s touch to the business as she understands how a woman feels when shopping for tires and auto service.
Walker tire has been in business for 60 years. They added Quick Nick’s Snappy Lube in 2002 and are now opening another branch of Walker Tire/Quick Nick’s on 48th and Pioneers. Owner Nick Sr. is a civil engineer and Nick Jr. is a mechanical engineer, which brings an unprecedented standard of knowledge for their tires, service and formulations.
Growing up with a father who is known as “The Dr. of Tires”, she was raised not only hearing about tires but what makes ‘Walker Tires’ different from all the others, such as the physical properties, ingredients and the formulations that go into their tires. These are the facts you can’t find on the internet. Tires are so much more than black, round and a certain price. Jeanne can help explain the Walker Tire difference, educate you and help you with any of your automotive needs.
