AMI Prepares to Open Surgery Center with Pain Relief Focus

In late fall of 2019, Advanced Medical Imaging (AMI; www.AMImaging.com) plans to start seeing patients in the surgery center addition to their current location at 7601 Pioneers Blvd. Most of the treatments in the facility will be performed by the vascular and interventional radiologists of AMI, along with other specialized physicians from the Lincoln area.

Vascular and interventional radiologists specialize in what their titles indicate: anything vascular and treatments that intervene to provide pain relief. These procedures are all minimally-invasive and require less downtime compared to traditional surgery. Relieving chronic pain through these procedures also allows patients to become less dependent on pain killers including addictive opioids.

Common vascular diseases that cause chronic pain include venous insufficiency (the cause of varicose veins), peripheral arterial disease (PAD), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and others. Other chronic pain that can be treated in minimally-invasive ways by these doctors include migraines, tendonitis, back pain, pelvic pain, and more. Most of these conditions are being treated at AMI’s current office, but even more procedures will be offered at their easy-to-get-to surgery center. The growth will also allow for them to increase the number of appointments available for diagnostic scans such as X-ray, MRI, and ultrasounds in the future.
