CHI Health St. Elizabeth Opens Pediatric Place-Child Only Emergency Room

On December 3, CHI Health St. Elizabeth (chihealth.com) hospital revealed its new pediatric emergency room—Pediatric Place. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in junction with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce to celebrate. The new unit opened to the public on December 10. The Johns Hopkins-inspired emergency room and inpatient unit was funded by the St. Elizabeth Foundation and community donors. The pediatric emergency room offers care catered to children with the goal of saving parents a drive to Omaha in an emergency situation.

Pediatric Place is staffed by highly-trained nurses and providers with an expertise in pediatric and emergency care. The unit features a private waiting room separated from the traditional ER, and colorful, kid-friendly rooms. They also maintain a positive relationship with Omaha’s Children’s Hospital for patients who require specialized care. Pediatric Place is armed to handle the following medical issues: bone fractures, allergic reactions, burns, abdominal and chest pain, poisonings, and other emergency care needs.

CHI Health Pediatric Place at St. Elizabeth is located on the west side of the hospital by the normal emergency room entrance. For more information, visit chihealth.com.
