First Medals Earned in 2016 LiveWell Challenge
With 16 of 111 events completed, three individuals have already earned bronze medals in the event-centric 2016 LiveWell Challenge (LWC, LiveWellChallenge.com), which encourages Nebraskans to be physically active year-around by training for, and participating in, locally-organized races, runs and walks.
Sheri Pfeil, 43, of Lincoln, sits atop the leaderboard with five events completed. Fellow Lincolnite Shannon Linder, 40, and North Platte’s Kisha Morland, 34, are not far behind with four events each, the minimum required for a bronze medal. All three likely have their sights set on silver or gold, which require seven and 10 events respectively.
Overall, more than 500 participants from 85 different communities are registered. Forty-seven Nebraska companies have at least one employee participating in the program. Registration for participants, companies and events remains open through June 30 at LiveWellChallenge.com where folks can also view the company and individual leaderboards.
The LiveWell Challenge is conducted by the Nebraska Sports Council, whose mission is to promote active and healthy lifestyle choices. The NSC also conducts the Cornhusker State Games, Mud Run and Pumpkin Run. Learn more at NebraskaSportsCouncil.com.
