Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) has started providing the core services at the former Lancaster County Community Mental Health Center (CMHC).  LFS recently hosted weekly meetings in February to provide information to former CMHC consumers and providers. These open forum meetings provided additional opportunities to understand possible changes now that LFS has assumed delivery of core services at this location, as a part of the LFS transition communication plan. A dedicated webpage with answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) — www.lfsquestions.org — has experienced steady and growing traffic throughout January and February. The website also provides a place for consumers and their families to submit new questions or concerns. From mid-January until recently, LFS staff members and therapists also visited with and answered questions from hundreds of CMHC consumers as they came into the lobby area for their appointments.

The former CMHC offices were closed January 31 and February 3 for the physical transition of moving computers, furniture and such, and officially reopened on Tuesday, February 4 as Lutheran Family Services Lincoln, South Office, located at 2201 S. 17th Street near Bryan Health West Campus.  For more information about Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS), please call (402) 441-7940 or email info@LFSneb.org.
