With the implementation of the PMV as a standard of care, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital consistently meets or exceeds the national average in ventilator wean percentage and days to wean. Expedited ventilator weaning may decrease recovery time and length of stay, thus reducing hospital costs.
While the Passy-Muir® Valve is commonly used in facilities around the country, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital was the first of 12 hospitals to be recognized for meeting the high standards which facilitates early and successful use of the valve.
