NESC Promotes Drug and Alcohol Recovery Month, Quarterly Sobriety Classes

The Nebraska Safety Council (NESC, nesafetycouncil.org) is raising awareness for National Drug and Alcohol Recovery Month. Drug and Alcohol Recovery Month is a national observance held every September to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life. The 2021 National Recovery Month theme is: Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community. If you would like to learn more about Drug and Alcohol Recovery month, visit www.rm.facesandvoicesofrecovery.org.

To promote sobriety and healthy lifestyles, NESC offers a class once a quarter called ‘Alcohol and Drug Offender Course.’ Their course is conducted in part by members of the community who serve in a variety of professional capacities. The course, which is designed to meet the court requirements of numerous judicial entities, can be taken in 8, 12, and 15-hour levels. If you or someone you know may benefit from this course, you can learn more by visiting their website here.

The mission of the Nebraska Safety Council is to provide education and leadership to empower Nebraskans to live safe and healthy.
