Tailgate Safely with The Bridge Behavioral Health this Football Season

With football season here, The Bridge Behavioral Health (thebridgenebraska.networkforgood.com/projects/137514-tailgate-safe-2021) is asking the public to be safe while enjoying the big game. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1. Keep track of the number of drinks you consume. Use your smart phone notes or a piece of paper and make a note of each drink before having it. This will help you slow down if needed.
2. Measure the amount of alcohol going into each drink.
3. Set a number of drinks for the day. This allows you to enjoy without over-enjoying.
4. Find alternative drinks to enjoy the game. Sparkling water or soda can also be consumed, without the effects of alcohol.
5. Know your ‘no’. Be prepared to politely decline drinks to stay within your limits.
6. Don’t drink and drive. Have a designated driver to make sure you and your party make it home safely.

The Bridge Behavioral Health, a local organization that connects people suffering from addiction and related mental-health issues with support and treatment, is raising funds to provide their annual alcohol-free tailgate party for those in recovery on November 20. All additional funds raised will also go to replacing their 18- and 24-year-old vans. Visit thebridgenebraska.networkforgood.com/projects/137514-tailgate-safe-2021 to learn more about this campaign.
