The 2013 Lincoln Heart Walk, a wellness event sponsored by the American Heart Association, will be held on Saturday, April 27th at Pioneers Park, 3201 S. Coddington Avenue, in the Pinewood Bowl from 8 a.m. until noon. Registration is free, and participants are encouraged to collect donations. Many participants are heart disease and stroke survivors, while others walk in honor or memory of a friend or family member who has or had heart disease or stroke.
The mission of The American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The American Heart Associations’ National Walking Day is April 3rd, and all Americans are encouraged to lace up their sneakers and take at least thirty minutes out of the day to get up and walk.
