The Compassion Center: Southeast Nebraska’s New Eating Disorder Program

Sage Nutrition of Lincoln, which offers nutrition services and consultations, is excited to announce the start of its new outpatient eating disorder program, The Compassion Center (www.sagenutrition.org/the-compassion-center/). The first of its kind in the Midwest, The Compassion Center provides innovative eating disorder treatment through a multi-faceted team approach. Those enrolling in the program will be able to engage in healing techniques through group therapy, nutrition discussions, movement and yoga, occupational therapy, life skills coaching, and art therapy.

Sage Nutrition founder Emily Estes, MS, RD, LMNT is familiar with the struggle of eating disorders as she herself battled bulimia for 10 years. In 2011 she published a book, “Affirming Me, Diminishing Ed” in which she talks about her struggle and how she overcame it. Leading the therapy sessions, coaching, and consultations at The Compassion Center are a group of highly qualified individuals that include registered dietitians, licensed mental health providers, occupational therapists, a registered nurse, and a movement specialist.

The Compassion Center is currently accepting clients into the program. Those interested in participating can learn more by visiting the website, www.sagenutrition.org/the-compassion-center/, or by calling (866) 818-7481.
