The Nebraska Safety Council would like to thank Jennifer Hall, outreach director of the University of Iowa’s Healthier Workforce Center For Excellence, for addressing attendees of the 2013 Safety Council Conference and Trade show, held in April at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel. Hall gave a presentation on Total Worker Health, which is a strategy developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and health (NIOSH) to integrate workplace safety and health protection with health promotion to prevent worker injury and illness and to advance health and wellbeing.
Over 150 safety, environmental and wellness professionals attended this two-day conference with over 35 educational sessions. Over 30 vendors also showcased the latest in safety, wellness and environmental products and services during the annual trade show. Additionally, nineteen Nebraska companies/organizations were recognized for their outstanding safety programs during the awards luncheon.
