Marcee Metzger has announced her retirement after 34 years as Voices of Hope’s (www.voicesofhopelincoln.org) only executive director and after 47 years of service in the field. From the very start, Marcee has been on the front lines, helping to ensure that confidential services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, incest, stalking, and related forms of abuse continue to be provided to the community at no cost.

Voices of Hope’s Board of Directors is currently in the process of hiring a new director to start before Marcee retires at the end of December. As the agency looks towards to the future, they also look back at everything that Metzger, and so many others, have accomplished over the years.

Fundraising is ongoing to sustain the agency and to ensure that they can keep providing services to the public. “A Legacy of Hope” luncheon is scheduled for November 15, where Voices of Hope will celebrate 47 years of service and honor Marcee Metzger.

The public can visit www.voicesofhopelincoln.org to purchase individual tickets and table sponsorships or make a donation through November 7.

Voices of Hope provides free and confidential services for victims of domestic violence and other related forms of abuse. Last year, the organization answered more than 8,000 calls from individuals needing help or information related to domestic violence and sexual assault.
