Matt Talbot Shares Inspiring Story of Impact Made in Transitional Housing Program

As Give to Lincoln Day approaches, Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) reflects on the impact made by the generosity of the Lincoln community. Contributions and support allow the agency to continue life-changing programs, such as the Transitional Housing Program. Corey is an example of the significance this program has in the lives of many. After struggling with the legal and personal repercussions of substance use, Corey decided to make a change. He found Matt Talbot’s program to be exactly what he needed.

The program provides a sober living environment for homeless individuals who have experienced significant drug and alcohol problems and are committed to remaining abstinent from substances and working on goals to improve their lives. Intensive case management and substance abuse counseling focus on relapse prevention and assist residents in accessing services, securing employment, and saving money.

Living in his own apartment now, Corey just received a promotion at work, has maintained his sobriety, and remains grateful for the opportunities he had while living at the transitions house. Help people like Corey improve their lives by making a donation to Matt Talbot. One of the many ways the community can support the organization is through Give to Lincoln Day on May 26 at givetolincoln.com.
