Nebraska Startup, Crescent Raises $3.5M, Surpasses 20K Waitlist Sign-Ups

Crescent (crescent.app), a financial technology company that offers up to 6% Annual Percentage Yield (APY) on your savings through its mobile app, announced it has closed a $3.5 million pre-seed investment round led by local investors. The company, whose app takes direct aim at traditional and high-yield savings account offerings, says it will use the funds to attract new users to its app and further expand its growing team.

Lincoln native and CEO Grant Roscoe founded the fintech startup in 2018 with the goal of simplifying cryptocurrency-powered financial services for everyday people. Since then, Crescent has recruited a team from leading technology companies, launched its app to early users (currently invite-only), and opened a public waitlist for those interested in using the app. In less than two months, Crescent’s waitlist has already surpassed 20,000 sign-ups.

“We have worked to build an experienced team, user-friendly product, and strong industry partnerships. It feels great to announce Crescent to the world…we have a lot more coming soon, including our nationwide launch this year,” Roscoe said.

The app, publicly available soon, will offer early access and rewards to subscribers that join the waitlist.
