2017 Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands Celebrates Nonprofits Breaking Barriers

The Nonprofit Association of the Midlands (NAM) and D.A. Davidson are hosting the 11th annual Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands, held Wednesday, November 1 at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in La Vista. The annual Summit celebrates more than a decade of nonprofits helping their communities.

The theme for this year’s Summit is “Breaking Barriers.” The Summit features breakout sessions, a Catalyst Award and workshops on a variety of topics, including fundraising, lobbying and moving strategic plans forward.

Blog author and nonprofit leader, Vu Le, who is widely known for his great humor and keen ideas, is the keynote speaker for this year’s Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands. Le is the Executive Director of Rainier Valley Corps, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by cultivating leaders of color, strengthening organizations led by communities of color and fostering collaboration between diverse communities. As the writer behind Nonprofit AF, Le is known not only for his humor but also for his no-nonsense approach.

“The Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands is an opportunity to highlight the work being done by the many great nonprofits in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa,” said Anne Hindery, CEO of the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands. “Our session leaders are local experts and thought leaders in the nonprofit community providing effective tools and valuable insights to help charitable organizations further their missions.”
