Over 350 Attended Mardi Gras Casino Royale Benefiting Heartland Cancer Foundation

It wouldn’t have been Fat Tuesday without playful beads, bedazzled masks, and Mardi Gras parties in full swing. But as people everywhere threw caution to the wind marking the beginning of Lent, a new event was rolled out for Lincolnites put on by the Heartland Cancer Foundation (www.heartlandcancerfoundation.org. The “Casino Royale” Fundraiser at the historic Rococo Theatre attracted an impressive 350+ attendees.

Music performed by the popular Peter Buffard jazz band, set the tone for the evening of casino games, silent auction and New Orleans-inspired hors d’oeuvres. However, the night’s festivities did not deter attendees from getting down to business to raise money for low-income cancer patients in Lincoln and surrounding communities.

With $125,000 raised this year, Heartland Cancer Foundation is planning a second annual Mardi Gras fundraiser on February 28, 2017. ‘Like’ them on Facebook to find out more about the foundation and upcoming events, or visit www.heartlandcancerfoundation.org.
