Volunteerism in Lincoln has a new hub. United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County (unitedwaylincoln.org) is proud of the launch of volunteerLNK.org, a dynamic online platform designed to connect organizations with eager volunteers throughout Lincoln and Lancaster County.
VolunteerLNK.org is a centralized site where individuals looking to make a difference in their community can easily find opportunities to volunteer their time and talents. The platform simplifies the process of finding meaningful volunteer opportunities, and is tailored to each user’s unique interests, skills and availability.
VolunteerLNK.org is currently active, with more organizations signing up and adding opportunities each week. Some opportunities are for a specific day and time, while others are ongoing, such as being a tutor for Lincoln Literacy or a CASA volunteer advocate. The goal is to help volunteers and organizations find each other through common skills and interests.
Volunteer opportunities can be filled by individuals, families, church groups, high school and college students and retirees. The site also offers options for companies to get involved together. “VolunteerLNK.org is going to be an invaluable resource for our community,” says Susan Hoover, Enterprise Business Analyst with Nelnet. Susan coordinates many volunteer outings and team-building opportunities for Nelnet’s associates locally. “The site helps easily coordinate volunteerism for our associates and helps me track our volunteer hours throughout the year.”
Individuals may visit volunteerLNK.org to explore opportunities, sign up for projects and be part of the collective effort to create positive change our community
