American Cancer Society Seeks Participants for Virtual Relay for Life on June 27

The American Cancer Society’s (ACS; www.cancer.org) virtual Relay for Life of Lancaster is slated for June 27, and they want to encourage people to sign up and fundraise for life-saving cancer research. The event starts, digitally, at 5 p.m. The ACS event leadership team is working closely with members of the community to organize details and respond in a way that best meets the health and safety needs of those who rely on ACS for support. Even though COVID-19 has changed the way supporters relay, cancer won’t stop and neither will the American Cancer Society.

For the first time in their long history, ACS’s mission—save lives and reduce cancer mortality rates—is in jeopardy. One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their life. Today, those patients face even greater risks due to the combination of the COVID-19 outbreak and their compromised immune systems.

The American Cancer Society needs support for research now more than ever. For more information, go to www.cancer.org. To support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Lancaster, please go to www.relayforlife.org/lancastercone to volunteer or donate.
