American Heart Association to Host Lincoln Go Red For Women October 3

The American Heart Association (www.heart.org/LincolnGoRed) will raise awareness and funds for cardiovascular disease and stroke on Thursday, October 3 during their Lincoln Go Red For Women event, which will be held at the Embassy Suites starting at 4:30 p.m. with an electronic silent auction and educational opportunities. The night continues with a plated dinner and a program featuring an inspiring survivor story. Kirstin Lammle with Hexagon, the local presenting sponsor, is chairing the annual event. Other sponsors include Union Bank & Trust and Olsson, with media sponsors 10/11 News and 106.3 KFRX. Proceeds benefit the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association.

One in three women’s deaths are caused by cardiovascular disease or stroke each year. In the past five years, the American Heart Association has funded over $4.1 million in Nebraska on 28 studies. However, last year the American Heart Association had to turn down 15 meritorious studies in Nebraska alone because they lacked the $2.5 million needed to fund them.

The Go Red For Women Expo is a part of the American Heart Association’s national movement, sponsored by CVS Health, to end heart disease and stroke in women. Individual tickets and tables are available now at www.heart.org/LincolnGoRed. Event sponsorship opportunities are also available. Call (402) 810-6870 with questions.
