That’s right; at the Branched Oak Observatory (theboo.org), they hold monthly events called Star Parties where they feature a number of astronomical events that are sure to satisfy your curiosity about the night sky. Whether looking at the sun, moon, Pleiades, Andromeda Galaxy or special events such as Aurora viewing, the Branched Oak Observatory is the place to be! Branched Oak Observatory is located at 143000 NW 98th St., Raymond, NE.

They will kick off the 2026 viewing season with an engaging event called Jupiter Rising. On Jan. 17 from 7 -11 p.m., there will be a new moon. This will be an engaging and entertaining night where Jupiter will be as big and bright as it can be. And with the new moon, the skies will be dark, and the views will be spectacular! Make sure to dress warmly. They will have hot coffee, hot chocolate and hot apple cider to keep your insides warm. The Kunkel Family Multipurpose Center will be up and running to keep the rest of you warm, too! Admission for this event is only $5 for adults and free for kids.
