The Harper Hope Center is the new home of Angels Among Us (www.myangelsamongus.org) that recently opened. The new space will allow Angels Among Us to welcome the pediatric cancer families they serve into a facility that was designed just for them. This space includes a TV lounge area, a space for meetings, crafting, facilitating support groups for bereaved families, a kitchen to host warm meals for families, laundry for families staying at the hospital and a place of respite for all. To be within walking distance of Children’s Nebraska and a short drive from Nebraska Medicine makes this facility easy to access for families traveling near and far for their child’s cancer treatment.
This project would not have been possible without The Harper Family Foundation, Schemmer Gives Back and countless other donors who contributed the needed funding to outfit the space.
Angels Among Us is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide financial and emotional support to any family whose child is battling pediatric cancer living in or being treated in the state of Nebraska. Since 2006, nearly 700 families have been supported with over $5 million in financial support.
