Angels Among Us Provides Record Support for Childhood Cancer Amid Global Pandemic

Amid a year of challenges that nobody could have expected, Angels Among Us (myangelsamongus.org) provided a record $500,000 in support to more than 120 childhood-cancer families in 2020. With a need for financial support that is greater than ever, Angels Among Us answered the call to help families stay focused on their sick children and not have to worry about how to make ends meet financially in the meantime. The organization covers things such as mortgage, rent, utilities, car payments, medical bills, and other critical expenses for the entire length of a child’s treatment plan, ranging from six months to 36 months.

During the last five years, Angels Among Us has increased their support to these families exponentially, as 70-90 Nebraska families each year learn that their child has cancer. In fact, Nebraska ranks No. 1 out of the 12 Midwestern states for the number of childhood-cancer cases and the need is expected to continue growing in 2021 and beyond.

Angels Among Us is a Nebraska nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to families whose children are battling pediatric cancer. Any family living in or being treated in Nebraska is eligible to apply for financial assistance with mortgage, rent, and other expenses.
