Angels Among Us to Host Artist & Angels Gala in Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and, to offer a way to learn more about how to combat childhood cancer in the state of Nebraska, Angels Among Us (www.MyAngelsAmongUs.org) is hosting their Artists & Angels Gala on September 20. This fundraiser will last from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at a at a View on State. Childhood cancer awareness is symbolized with a gold ribbon, so Angels Among Us encourages the community to “go gold’ by attending this gala and raising funds to support families with kiddos who are battling this awful disease.
In Nebraska alone, 60-80 new families a year are told their child has cancer. As a community, support can be given through financial donations to organizations that support these families, such as Angels Among Us, through advocacy and volunteer efforts. Anything from a small gesture to a large financial contribution can help families whose children are bravely fighting.
Angels Among Us is a Nebraska nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to families whose children are battling pediatric cancer. Any family living-in or being treated in Nebraska is eligible to apply for financial support. In 2018, Angels Among Us provided financial support to 99 families, giving over $355,000, so they were able to remain stable during their pediatric cancer journey.
Anyone who is interested in getting a table at the Angels Among Us Artist & Angels Gale, and/or would like to be a sponsor, should contact Alyssa Theilen, director of community relations and development, at (402) 934-0999 / alyssa@myangelsamongus.org.
