Bridges to Hope Returns Bud’s Thrift Shoppe to Traditional Hours Following COVID Closure
Bridges to Hope (bridgestohopene.org) returned its Bud’s Thrift Shoppe to traditional hours on August 3, after having been closed completely due to the COVID pandemic, then operating on limited hours. The shop now is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Bud’s Thrift Shoppe is an ongoing fundraiser for Bridges to Hope, borne in 2017 from the realization that extra non-necessity donations to the nonprofit, which they were passing on to other organizations to sell, could instead be benefitting the nonprofit directly. The store is named after Pastor Bud Christenson, who founded Bridges to Hope.
Bridges to Hope serves men and women recently or soon-to-be released from incarceration by providing them with furniture, household goods, personal-hygiene products, and clothing at no cost to them. Bud’s Thrift Shoppe generates money for the sustainability of the organization, and 100% of the proceeds from the store go directly back to fund Bridges to Hope, which is fully funded by generous community members.
Bridges to Hope is located at 3107 S 6th St., STE 107 and Bud’s Thrift Shoppe is at 2226 O St. For more information, visit bridgestohopene.org or contact Executive Director Rhonda Mattingly at (402) 420-5696 / Rhonda@bridgestohopene.org. You can reach Bud’s Thrift Shoppe at (402) 420-5697.
