Bright Lights Thanks 2016 Summer Donors

Bright Lights Summer Learning Adventures (BrightLights.org) has 1,500+ students eager to learn and 100+ dedicated staff and talented teachers. But without donors, Bright Lights can’t provide Lincoln the amazing summer learning opportunities they have become known for over 30 years. Bright Lights, a local non-profit, is taking November to thank their 2016 donors who made it possible to provide yet another summer full of learning and fun for children.

How does the program work? Students choose a class topic and are then immersed in it for a week of hands-on learning not often available to students during the school year. Parents know the class is teaching their children valuable STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts/literature and mathematics) principles, expanding their view of the world and helping them build new relationships; the students just find it fun.

Bright Lights will be offering five weeks of quality learning programs to elementary and middle school students in Summer 2017. Without donations, this learning opportunity isn’t available. Funds are used to cover items such as classroom rental, supplies, teacher salary and student scholarships— scholarships which afforded 300+ students the opportunity to attend last year who otherwise could not have. The support and dedication of the Lincoln community has been and continues to be a vital part of Bright Lights success. Interested in helping this experience be available to more students? Please visit BrightLights.org or call (402) 420-1115 to become a donor.
