Camp Sonshine to Host Arbor Day Tree Planting Fundraiser on April 27
Camp Sonshine (www.CampSonshineMemories.org) will host an Arbor Day tree planting fundraiser on Saturday, April 27. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families and businesses are encouraged to sponsor one or more trees for the fundraiser. Trees can be purchased through the Camp Sonshine office. This specific event is a part of a larger strategic plan that is in place to efficiently and effectively create and beautify spaces for the growing number of campers hosted during the summer.
Camp Sonshine, a non-profit camp and conference center with locations in Roca and Firth, both which offer a unique environment for families to experience the love of God through innovative programs, fun activities, and genuine relationships. Camp Sonshine was established in 2007 and served about 100 children during its first summer of day camps. Camp Sonshine recently experienced a major enrollment milestone by surpassing the 2,300-camper mark during the 2018 summer. Camp Sonshine’s second location in Firth, Camp Solaris, was gifted to them more recently. It is home to two dorm-style buildings for housing, one large multi-purpose building and 40 acres of land to explore.
