CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) (nebraskacasa.org) for Lancaster County invites the community to participate in a statewide Sidewalk Chalk Competition designed to raise awareness about CASA’s advocacy for foster children and its ongoing need for volunteers.

They supply the chalk and the sidewalk, and you supply the artistic talent! The theme for this year’s competition is “The Power of One,” highlighting how one person can make a big difference in a child’s life.

While participants can create their sidewalk chalk art anywhere, CASA for Lancaster County is sponsoring a morning of chalk drawing from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, outside The Mill at Telegraph (21st and Capitol Parkway).

Once your drawing is complete, simply snap a photo and enter the statewide contest by uploading it at bit.ly/chalkart2025. Winners will be announced on Oct. 1, and the grand prize is $500.

CASA for Lancaster County recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Juvenile Court.
