CBMC Lincoln Takes a Virtual Approach to Hosting Weekly and Monthly Activities
The COVID-19 crisis hasn’t slowed down CBMC Lincoln’s (Lincoln.cbmc.com) efforts; it has just changed the way they conduct their activities. For example, CBMC peer advisory groups, discussion groups, and one-to-one meetings have continued to meet by video conference. One of the new activities offered includes free “Connecting Point” discussion groups conducted over ZOOM. Future events are in the planning stages, including a Peer Advisory Group Lunch & Learn on June 2 at the CBMC office and the 19th Annual CBMC Golf Classic on July 13 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. In addition, CBMC USA is making free online events and webinars available nationally.
During this time of upheaval and confusion from the COVID-19 crisis, it’s easy to become uncertain and fearful of the future. People can easily get swept up into constant worry about the impact on their families, friends and themselves, their job security, plus a host of other concerns.
CBMC Lincoln maintains their focus to help men in the marketplace not only grapple with these uncertain times but points them to the support and answers that God can provide. According to CBMC, one principle from the Bible especially applicable to these times is “trusting God with all your heart and not leaning on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Originating in 1930 in Chicago during the Great Depression, CBMC is a global ministry to men in the marketplace. They encourage men toward spiritual development, personal integrity, principled leadership, and a desire to impact others. All public events are subject to the COVID-19 status at the time.
