Center for People in Need Receives Record High Donations for Growing List of Families

The Center for People in Need (www.cfpin.org) received a record amount in donations from a record number of donors during Give to Lincoln 2020—nearly double the contributions made last year. Thanks to the generosity of the Lincoln community, the Center finished the event with $167,711 from 595 donors. The funds raised through Give to Lincoln will, among other things, help provide food and diapers to the more than 1,200 families that visit the Center’s drive-thru each week. Since March 17, more than 800 new families have signed up for Center services.

For the safety of clients and staff, the Center for People in Need’s services currently are limited to drive-thru distribution, virtual client assistance, and contactless applications for their People Obtaining Prosperity scholarship program. The Center for People in Need is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income people achieve economic independence.
