Are you interested in using your skills and expertise to impact thousands of lives right here in our community? Consider volunteering to prepare taxes with Community Action’s (www.communityactionatwork.org) Tax Preparation program!
Community Action’s Tax Preparation program increases low-income families’ financial stability by providing free tax preparation and filing services. Last year, the program prepared and filed over 1,300 tax returns for low-income families, aiding in the return of over $1 million back into their pockets.
By becoming a volunteer Tax Preparer you will directly help people like Susan, a single mother who received services last year and was able to put a down payment on a new vehicle and pay down student loan debt.
You do not need special skills or certifications to be a volunteer tax preparer! Community Action will provide all of the training you need to successfully prepare and file tax returns.
Volunteers are needed beginning in January of 2016; training will begin in December of 2015.
