Community Gives Back to Nebraska Community Blood Bank through Donor Days
Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) (NCBB.org) invites you to celebrate giving back by organizing a Donor Day of your own. Donor Days are a chance for small groups of coworkers, friends, and/or family to donate blood together at one of NCBB’s four donor centers between Lincoln and Omaha. Donor Days are a great way to celebrate a special occasion or honor someone special in your life, while providing even more life-saving blood for Nebraska hospital patients.
“Our group came together to donate blood in honor of my nephew Cameron’s birthday. Cameron was born prematurely at 26 weeks and was a fighter,” said Alicia McAtee. “Cameron’s parents are forever grateful for the short time they were able to spend with their son and the gift of blood donation that helped each day. For many of us, it was our first time donating and we were nervous. NCBB staff were wonderful and quickly calmed our nerves.”
Depending on how many donors are in your group, your Donor Day can take place over several hours in one day or over the course of a few days. You’re welcome to bring decorations like balloons or treats to make your day even more special!
